Best Hotel Properties a.s. recorded occupancy increase across the portfolio; EBITDA for the first half of the year grew by 63% Bratislava, 28 August 2015 - All the hotels in the portfolio of Best Hotel Properties a.s. (BHP) recorded significant occupancy increases during the first half of the year. The Group also reported growth in its EBITDA of 63 percent to EUR 6.7 million year-over-year. A one percent fall in revenues was primarily due to the last year's sale of Hotel Kadashevskaya in Moscow. Net profit amounted to EUR 3.0 million.

"Each of the hotels in the portfolio recorded growth in revenues per available room (RevPAR) in the local currency. Grand Hotel Kempinski High Tatras reported record numbers as result of a successful skiing season, but also because of the steady average daily rate (ADR) growth during the year. The hotel's RevPAR grew by 28 percent year-over-year," said Branislav Babík, CEO of BHP.

Hotel InterContinental Prague generates the largest share of the Group's sales. Mainly because of the positive market developments, InterContinental Prague reported increases in both - occupancy and ADR, in which it leads the market. Also, in spite of negative sentiments in Russia, new management managed to increase occupancy of Baltschug Kempinski, the hotel with the second biggest share on the Group's sales.
Bratislava also recorded positive market trends. "Hotel Crowne Plaza, which is now directly operated by us and which is the occupancy leader on the market, reported increase in sales and operating efficiency mainly as a result of conversion from a management contract to a franchise," Branislav Babík said. He also added that the direct management of hotels in Bratislava is now a priority. "We know the local market the best, we know how to utilize the synergies, and thus cut the costs", he further explained. Significant growth in ADR and occupancy, and thus increase in overall sales, was also recorded in Kempinski Hotel River Park, which had been rebranded as Grand Hotel River Park, a Luxury Collection Hotel Bratislava at the beginning of August.
