ABB and Hitachi on a potential deal. ABB and Hitachi confirmed they’re in talks about a deal over power grids after a report that the Japanese conglomerate is preparing to buy the business for as much as 800 billion yen ($7 billion), Bloomberg reports. ABB said it’s in discussions with Hitachi to expand and re-define an existing strategic power grid partnership between the two companies that dates to 2014.

Orange heading 5G. The operator plans to launch 5G in 17 cities in Europe in 2019, before marketing on a larger scale in 2020. Orange is also working with Amazon to integrate their respective artificial intelligence.

Concessions. Siemens Mobility and Alstom have offered concessions to the EU to get the green light for their marriage. Antitrust fears for competition in the EEA. The adjustments "mainly concern signaling activities and rolling stock products".

Changes tomorrow for Renault. The Carlos Ghosn investigation report was sent yesterday by Nissan to Renault. The board of directors of the French car manufacturer is meeting today. Yesterday, the Japanese justice system refused Ghosn a request for release.

Relaxation. Huawei's CFO was released on bail in Canada. Donald Trump suggested that he could intervene with his justice department to prevent the case from polluting trade negotiations between China and the United States.

Bottom of the range. Tencent Music raises $1.1 billion at its U.S. IPO, which is at the lower end of the $13 range (initial range $13 to $15). Tencent's subsidiary is valued at just over $21 billion.

CS gives guarantees. Credit Suisse will buy back CHF 3 billion ($2.65 bn) of shares between 2019 and 2020 and promises to increase its dividend by at least 5% per year.

Softbank may sell its shares in Nvidia in 2019. SoftBank is planning to offload its stake in Nvidia early next year, according to people familiar with the matter cited by Bloomberg. The Japanese investor could make about $3 billion in profit from the trade.

Cisco is negotiating the purchase of Luxtera, Bloomberg reported, for a few hundred million dollars.
