Intertek : awarded contract by The Government of Iraq for its Conformity Assessment Programme for goods imported into Iraq

Intertek, a leading Total Quality Assurance provider to industries worldwide, has been awarded a contract by the Central Organization for Standardization and Quality Control (COSQC) of Iraq to manage its Conformity Assessment Programme (CAP) referred to as Pre- Inspection, Testing and Issuing Certificates of Conformity Programme of Goods imported into Iraq for exports to the country.
The programme verifies the conformity of all regulated products in the respective country of supply within a range of sectors, including but not limited to: Food, Chemicals, Electricals and Electronic Appliances, Textiles, Cosmetics and Perfumery products, Tobacco products, Construction and Building Materials, Stationery, Baby Care Items and Toys, Vehicle Spare Parts and Lubricants. This ensures they comply with the applicable Iraqi Technical Regulations and approved standards, assuring Iraq's consumers of the quality and reliability of imported goods.

Exporters to Iraq are required to provide a Certificate of Conformity for Customs clearance in accordance with Government Technical Regulations. This certificate can only be obtained from an Approved Certification Body (CB) such as Intertek. Intertek is also approved for the Kurdistan, Kuwait, Qatar and Saudi Arabia CAP, giving exporters to the Middle East an ever better service by taking advantage of the synergies of using one provider for their certification needs.
