The Saudi French company Assystem Radicon, subsidiary of Assystem, a French Global leader in Engineering and project management has won a major engineering (EPCM) contract from the French company Veolia, a global leader in optimized resource management.

Assystem Radicon's scope of work during the 28-months contract covers engineering, procurement, and construction management (EPCM) services, including Engineering design and planning and managing the commissioning of the plant, to support Veolia's own development of an integrated Waste-to-Energy plant at Jubail Plaschem park in Saudi Arabia's Eastern Province.

This plant will treat up to 30,000 tons of solid industrial waste annually, plus 30,000 tons of liquid waste, recovering energy to provide steam, cooling and industrial gases to Plaschem industrial park. This Waste-to-Energy plant is aligned with the Kingdom's Vision 2030 objective of sustainability and environmental conservation, producing savings of SAR 40 billion per year.

Assystem's Senior Vice President Energy Transition & Infrastructures, Thomas Branche noted, 'Assystem Radicon is thrilled to be part of developing the waste-to-energy plant in Plaschem park in Jubail, which will contribute to the environment sustainability solutions which the Saudi government is pursuing. Following our nuclear contract with King Abdullah City for Atomic and Renewable Energy (KACARE) and several infrastructure multiple-year Framework Agreement Contracts with the Royal Commission for Jubail and Yanbu, this award to Assystem is a new important step in the implementation of our strategy in Saudi to combine strong local presence and know-how with our global expertise in engineering and project management'.

In the past 27 years in Saudi Arabia, Assystem Radicon has been involved in several large engineering and design projects in Saudi Arabia. The company is working for Saudi companies and entities such as the Royal Commission for Jubail and Yanbu, SAUDI ARAMCO, SABIC, SEC, Modon, Marafiq, many and other notable government, semi-government and private clients within the Kingdom.
