ZCCM Gold Company has injected K45 million for the initial phase of the Kasenseli gold mine project in Mwinilunga of North-Western Province.

The capital injection will go towards fencing off the licence area to keep away the hordes of illegal miners that have invaded the area since the discovery of the resources last year.

According to a statement released by ZCCM-Investment Holding public relations manager Loisa Kakoma, 40 locals will be employed in the fencing exercise scheduled to start this week.

Ms Kakoma said the fencing was an additional security measure to the state security that was already on the ground patrolling the area to ward off any illegal activities.
