Intesa Sanpaolo SpA said Monday that its subsidiary Intesa Sanpaolo Vita has bought a controlling stake in Italian health insurer RBM Assicurazione Salute.

The Italian lender said Intesa Sanpaolo Vita bought a stake of 50% plus one share for 325 million euros ($351.5 million) from the Favaretto family's Gruppo RBHold.

The company said Intesa Sanpaolo Vita plans to progressively increase its stake in RBM Assicurazione Salute to 100% from 2026 to 2029.

The new entity, to be headed by Marco Vecchietti, will be known as Intesa Sanpaolo RBM Salute, the company said.
