ALD announces the appointment of new CEOs in Italy, Morocco and Portugal

ALD is pleased to announce the imminent appointment of Philippe Valigny as Chief Executive Officer of ALD Automotive in Italy, subject to confirmation by the Board of ALD Automotive in Italy. Previously Chief Executive Officer of ALD Automotive in Morocco and Mediterranean Regional Director, he will replace Andrea Badolati who has left the Group.

Philippe will be replaced by Tachfine Bekkari, previously Group Treasurer of ALD and Finance Director of ALD Automotive in Luxembourg, as CEO of ALD Automotive in Morocco. Marek Malachowski, previously CEO of ALD Automotive in Poland and North East Europe Regional Director, will replace Philippe as Mediterranean Regional Director. In addition to his new regional role, Marek is appointed CEO of ALD Automotive in Portugal. The appointments of Tachfine Bekkari and Marek Malachowski are effective 1 September.

Biographies

Philippe Valigny

Philippe Valigny began his career at Bossard Consultants in 1991 before joining the Renault Group in 1993 where he held various managerial positions in Sales and Advertising. Philippe moved to Société Générale in 2000 as Advertising Director for the retail branch of the bank and joined ALD Automotive in 2004 to launch greenfield operations in Romania as CEO. In 2008, he was appointed CEO in the Ukraine and went on four years later to become CEO in Turkey and Regional Director for Turkey, Greece, Egypt, Romania and Bulgaria. In 2016, he became CEO of ALD Automotive in Morocco and Mediterranean Regional Director, supervising Algeria, Morocco and Portugal.

Philippe Valigny holds a Master's degree in management from the ESSEC Business School.

Marek Malachowski

Marek Malachowski began his career at Renault holding various managerial roles in sales and marketing in France, Germany and Poland, including Global Brand Director of Clio and Twingo for the Renault Group. He was appointed Sales and Dealer Network Director for Renault in Poland in

2003 and became Regional Director for the Baltics two years later. In 2008, Marek left Renault to manage business development for Ferrari Scuderia Praha followed by various consultancy missions for global manufacturers in the automotive industry. Marek joined ALD Automotive in 2012 as CEO of Poland and became North East Europe Regional Director in 2016.

Marek Malachowski holds a Master of Science in geography and economics from the University of Gdansk.

Tachfine Bekkari

Tachfine Bekkari began his career in 2000 as Group Treasurer of SNOP, a business division of the Groupe Financière SNOP Dunois (FSD). In 2005, he was appointed Treasurer of MECAPLAST. He joined ALD Automotive in 2008 as Group Treasurer of ALD and Finance Director for ALD Automotive in Luxembourg.

Tachfine Bekkari holds a Master of Science in Finance and Capital Markets from the Paris School of Business.
