Atos SE said Tuesday that it would enter a partnership with French energy company Total SA to develop technologies to advance carbon neutrality.

Atos, a France-based company focused on digital transformation, said the partnership follows Total's 2019 acquisition of Atos's Quantum Learning Machine. The QLM is a quantum simulator used to test and accelerate algorithms for various fields, and in particular can be useful in discovering new materials for carbon capture or energy storage.
