Raytheon Technologies Corp. said Monday that its Raytheon Missiles & Defense business will establish a facility in the U.S. to produce equipment for the Iron Dome weapons system.

Raytheon will create the facility in conjunction with Rafael Advanced Defense Systems Ltd., an Israeli-based defense company. A site will be chosen by the end of the year, Raytheon said.

The facility will produce missiles and launchers for the Iron Dome system, which has been used in Israel to intercept and destroy incoming missiles, rockets and artillery. The U.S. facility will help the U.S. Defense Department and U.S. allies implement the system elsewhere, a Raytheon executive said.
