UniCredit SpA said Tuesday that it has appointed Mirko Bianchi, currently the group's co-chief financial officer, as chief executive of group wealth management and private banking effective on Oct. 1.

The Italian bank said Mr. Bianchi will report to its co-CEOs for commercial banking in Western Europe, Francesco Giordano and Olivier Khayat.

UniCredit also named Stefano Vecchi as deputy CEO of wealth management and private banking effective on Oct. 1. Marco Bizzozero, the current CEO of the divisions, will leave the group to pursue an opportunity with a U.S. fintech.

The bank said co-CFO Stefano Porro will assume sole responsibility for the CFO function.
