SEOUL, April 17 (Reuters) - The finance ministers of Japan and South Korea expressed serious concerns about the recent depreciation of their local currencies, South Korea's finance ministry said in a statement released on Wednesday.

Japanese Finance Minister Shunichi Suzuki and South Korean Finance Minister Choi Sang-mok said they were ready to deploy measures to stabilise excessive volatility in foreign exchange markets, in a meeting held on Tuesday in Washington. (Reporting by Jihoon Lee; Editing by Tom Hogue)
