This indicator is a measure of U.S. consumer confidence on the basis of a monthly survey of 5,000 households. The statistics published on the last Tuesday of each month allows us to anticipate a possible turnaround in consumer spending and thus to define the future growth levels of the U.S. economy.
An increase in consumer confidence would lead to inflation. The level of this indicator can also impact on future decisions of the Fed's monetary policy.
