NEW YORK, April 16 (Reuters) - Federal Reserve Bank of New York President John Williams said on Tuesday that businesses see great promise in artificial intelligence but it is very unclear what the economic impact will be.

Williams, speaking at an event held by the Economic Club of New York, said it was yet to be seen if new artificial intelligence will push up productivity. Williams also said inflation had retreated broadly across a range of categories. (Reporting by Michael S. Derby Editing by Chris Reese)
