Airbus reports that the Japan Coast Guard (JCG) has placed an additional order for three H225 helicopters, bringing its total fleet of this aircraft to 18, for its maritime law enforcement and rescue missions.

"The latest addition to the Super Puma family, the H225 is now equipped with new avionics which, combined with its autopilot, reduces the pilots' workload and enables them to concentrate on the mission in hand", stresses Airbus.

24 H225 aircraft are currently in use in Japan by the Ministry of Defense or parapublic operators for various missions including search and rescue, VIP, fire-fighting, and passenger and cargo transport.
