Otkritie Bank rose to 5th place among the top Russian banks by capital in the rating Top 1000 World Banks 2017, compiled by The Banker magazine based on 2016 financial results. Otkritie Bank's Tier 1 capital grew by 28.69% to reach USD 3.74 billion. In the rating of the world's largest banks, Otkritie rose 44 places in the ranking to reach 277th place. Also named among the Top 5 largest Russian banks were Sberbank, VTB, Alfa Bank and Gazprombank.

Otkritie Bank also was ranked 3rd by capital among banks in the rating of the most valuable Russian public companies, compiled by RIA Rating. The Bank's capital increased by 30% in 2016 to reach USD 3.92 billion. In terms of capital, Otkritie surpassed eight other Russian banks included in the rating, with only Sberbank and VTB ahead of it. In the complete list of the Top 100 major Russian publicly traded companies, Otkritie was ranked 33rd.
