Bechtle transforming Gütersloh location into IT Future Hub
  • Two new builds of 2,000 m² and 380 m² will expand the site
  • Offices for a further 300 employees
  • Construction from April 2024 to the third quarter of 2025 followed by modernisation of existing building
  • Gütersloh campus to become new home of Bechtle Bielefeld

Gütersloh, 03 April 2024 - Ground is being broken today in Gütersloh on the construction of two new buildings at Bechtle subsidiary, Modus Consult. A four-storey office building will provide modern IT workplaces for an additional 300 employees and it will be connected to the existing building by a two-storey atrium, which will serve as an entrance, lobby and lounge area. Once construction has been completed on the IT Future Hub in the third quarter of 2025, some 200 Bechtle Bielefeld employees will make the move to Gütersloh and the existing building fully modernised.

The new state-of-the-art space will increase the footprint for offices and meeting rooms by 2,000 m² to a total of around 3,700 m² while the 380 m² atrium will become the heart of the site with its reception area and spaces for breaks, networking and collaboration. Green methods for generating energy were considered during planning, which foresees 12 geothermal boreholes being drilled and extensive photovoltaic panels being installed on the roofs to power heating and cooling systems as well as generate electricity.

All sights locked on growth.
A growing number of Bechtle locations are to be transformed into IT Future Hubs, which will provide modern workplaces and foster collaboration and creativity. This strategy not only has the economic benefits of bringing several teams under one roof, but also allows the Bechtle Group's specialists to work even more closely together. "This expansion is laying the foundations for a successful future and all signs are pointing to continued growth at Gütersloh. We aspire to be a technology partner our customers can rely on, always on-hand with the answers to their IT challenges and this development is a step in the right direction for that," says Bernhard Alsdorf, Managing Director, MODUS Consult GmbH, Gütersloh.

Promoting nationwide collaboration
The new IT Future Hub will bolster teamwork with other Bechtle Group locations, especially in Hanover, which has established itself as the IT partner of choice in Hanover, Braunschweig, Wolfsburg and Göttingen, and with which Gütersloh is keen to deepen ties to leverage opportunities for growth. Holger Meyer, Managing Director of the Bechtle IT system houses in Bielefeld and Hanover: "The new space has been designed to suit various working methods and scenarios, promote interdisciplinary knowledge transfer and facilitate networking. This construction work underscores our commitment to Gütersloh, but is also a decisive step towards our development as a strong, regional employer."
