City National : Hires Small Business Credit Manager for Personal & Business Banking Division

Joseph Edson will oversee credit teams supporting business and personal banking

LOS ANGELES - City National Bank, America's Premier Private and Business Bank, announced today that it has hired Joseph Edson as a senior vice president and credit manager for its Personal & Business Banking division. Edson is based in City National's Los Angeles headquarters and reports to Scott Witter, executive vice president.

In his new role, Edson supervises the credit teams that support business and personal banking for both Small Business Administration (SBA) and conventional loans. He is also responsible for reviewing loan applications and ensuring that requests meet City National's loan quality standards.

'City National is growing its conventional and SBA loan offerings, so bringing Joe on board will help ensure that our credit teams are aligned to support our growth strategy,' said Witter. 'His credit and operations expertise will help us serve clients better by expediting the analysis and processing of loan requests. Edson has extensive background managing credit teams that support business banking, SBA and consumer product offerings. He has held various credit and operations leadership roles for U.S. Bank, South County Bank, Cabrera & Associates and MUFG Union Bank. He holds a bachelor's degree in business administration from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo.
