Coca-Cola Amatil Limited (ASX:CCL) (CCA) and Heineken International B.V. look like being the winners in the contest for drinks portfolio of Asahi Group Holdings, Ltd. (TSE:2502), with a conclusion thought to be imminent. Heineken, advised by Deutsche Bank, and Coca-Cola Amatil, advised by Macquarie Capital, were understood to be the final contenders for Asahi's cider brands Strongbow, Bonamy's and Little Green and beer brands Stella Artois and Beck's. However, the understanding now is that a portfolio break-up is on the cards, with Heineken set to buy the cider portfolio while Coca-Cola Amatil takes the premium international beer brands. DataRoom revealed earlier in 2020 that Heineken International and Coca-Cola Amatil were expected to be contenders in the Rothschild-advised process to sell the labels, which sat in the CUB Pty Ltd. part of the portfolio.
