Southfield, Mich. … Power management company Eaton today announced that Alexandre Georgetti was recognized by SME Media's Smart Manufacturing, which serves U.S. engineers and other manufacturing professionals, as one of 25 leaders in smart manufacturing transforming the way the manufacturing industry designs and produces goods. Georgetti is the director of manufacturing strategy for Eaton's Vehicle Group in Galesburg, Mich.

SME, the professional association committed to advancing manufacturing and developing a skilled workforce, honors leaders who work at startups, large corporations, public-private partnerships and standards organizations for 'successfully changing the pace and scope of technological adoption of smart manufacturing processes at the highest levels.' The 25 leaders were selected by Smart Manufacturing magazine in consultation with manufacturing experts from across a wide range of industry segments and disciplines.

Georgetti was selected for SME's list in recognition of his involvement in implementing Eaton Vehicle Group's 10 Industry 4.0 solutions, including digital simulation and rapid application development, which are designed to improve operational performance in productivity, flexibility, quality and speed to market. In addition to establishing and implementing Industry 4.0 strategies, including global governance resulting in standard initiatives deployment and significant operational benefits, Georgetti also is developing a strategic footprint for Vehicle Group projects to increase competitiveness and manage global assets.

'This recognition is extremely well-deserved, and we'd like to congratulate Georgetti on being named to this prestigious list of leaders that are transforming manufacturing,' said João Faria, president, Eaton's Vehicle Group. 'Georgetti's dedication to developing methods that enhance our operations and increase efficiency has allowed us to accelerate our Industry 4.0 digital transformation - and during the pandemic has enabled us to continue our operations, meet customer commitments and keep our team members safe.'

'We've seen in the last several months how quickly our industry can rebound to near full production,' said Robert Willig, executive director and CEO of SME. 'These 25 luminaries in manufacturing are pushing the pace of change in our industry, paving the path that leads to elevated quality, improved productivity, increased profitability and higher employment here in North America.

Georgetti began his career at Eaton in 1998 as a manufacturing engineer at the Vehicle Group's Valinhos, Brazil, facility. Since then, he's held roles of increasing responsibility as a manager of supply chain management, logistics, and strategy. Georgetti and the other recognized leaders are featured in the April 2021 issue of Smart Manufacturing magazine that highlights the advances and accomplishments in their areas of manufacturing.
