Europcar Mobility Group pushes forward its ambition to connect all the vehicles in its fleet by the end of 2024 and, in that perspective, is ramping up its 'Connected Vehicles' program.

For the European N-degree1 in vehicle rental, the development of vehicle connectivity - either natively through partnerships with car manufacturers or by adding telematics solutions to vehicles - is a key enabler in collecting vehicle data in accordance with data protection regulations, so as to be able to improve fleet management efficiency and customer experience.

To date, 125,000 vehicles in the Europcar Mobility Group fleet - all brands (Europcar, Goldcar, Ubeeqo) - are connected, out of a fleet of around 250,000 vehicles, which represents an important milestone.

In some countries, such as the United Kingdom and Portugal, 100% of the fleet is already connected.

' The first benefits of our program are in operational efficiency. Connectivity allows us to control our fleet in real time, optimize operational processes such as fuel management, vehicle allocation, control safety and security of vehicles, but also to improve post-accident management. The evolution towards a fully connected fleet will allow us to automate certain tasks such as fleet inventory, invoicing, etc.

Finally, connectivity opens the way to a better customer experience: direct and 'deskless' access to the vehicle, greater transparency on billing and, potentially, new connected services, such as real-time assistance, advice and an eco-driving assessment ', comments Caroline Jannel, Group Operations Director.

As part of the deployment of its 'Connected Vehicles' program, Europcar Mobility Group recently signed a partnership with Ford, allowing transparent access to telemetric data from Ford vehicles such as geolocation, fuel level, mileage and vehicle alerts. maintenance.

' This partnership with Ford is a great example of how collaboration can be done with automakers. It demonstrates the immediate benefits of connecting our fleet without having to invest in and install secondary solutions. I would like to thank Ford for being a major partner, together we have established a new benchmark in our business, ' comments Roy Tippner, Director of Network Transformation, in charge of the 'Connected Vehicles' program.

Chris Miller, Data Services Manager of Ford Pro Intelligence, comments: ' Europcar Mobility Group has successfully implemented a clearly defined and well-executed connectivity strategy. Ford is delighted to support the program as a partner. Our Ford Pro Data software Services provides seamless access to a rich selection of data from Ford cars and vans in the Europcar Mobility Group fleet, enabling the Group to increase efficiency and improve the experience of both its customers and employees .
