Europcar Mobility Group announces today the appointment of Joost van Houwelingen as Managing Director of Europcar Mobility Group BENELUX.

Joost van Houwelingen has been working for over 8 years for Pon: a family owned multinational present in 34 countries, positioned as the leading mobility group in the Netherlands, with bicycles, cars, and innovative mobility solutions such as bike leasing, shared scooters, mobility cards, car sharing and bike subscriptions.

Until today, Joost van Houwelingen was Managing Director Automotive Services at Pon, a position he held for 3 years. Previously, he was Director of MOVE, Pon's flagship in Amsterdam, and before that, Chief of Staff to the CEO of Pon.

This appointment takes place in the framework of Europcar Mobility Group new strategy. Joost van Houwelingen will bring his experience in strategy, transformation, e-commerce and data analytics acquired at Pon to further grow and expand the BENELUX business of the Group.

In these new developments, he will be supported by Olivier Verburg, appointed as Chief Financial Officer for BENELUX. After 9 years at KPMG he joined Pon in 2011 as Manager Corporate Reporting & Control. For the last 5 years he has been Manager Finance & Control for one of Pon's business units.

Joost van Houwelingen will also be supported by Henk de Korte, appointed Operations Director for BENELUX. He has over 24 years' experience at Hertz Benelux, where he has been Operations Director since 2005.

The appointment of three leading professionals in the mobility industry demonstrates the Group's ambitions in Belgium, Luxemburg and the Netherlands.
