FANUC USA Corporation was established in 1977. Originally located in Elk Grove Village, IL, FANUC USA's first product was the FANUC SYSTEM 6 CNC, with an installed general purpose microprocessor. By 1981, FANUC USA expanded its facility, and there were 80K FANUC NCs/CNCs installed worldwide.
In 1982, GMFanuc Robotics was established with a staff of 70 people working in a 50K square foot facility in Troy, MI. The first customer installation was a 10-robot paint line at GM's assembly plant in Doraville, GA.
Today, there are over 40 million FANUC products working in manufacturing facilities all over the world. FANUC America employs 1,500+ professionals, occupies more than one million square feet of space in Oakland County, MI, and has 23 regional offices throughout North and South America.
