FORT WAYNE, Ind. (AP) _ Franklin Electric Co. (FELE) on Tuesday reported second-quarter profit of $24.7 million.

The Fort Wayne, Indiana-based company said it had profit of 52 cents per share. Earnings, adjusted for restructuring costs, came to 54 cents per share.

The results beat Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of three analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 47 cents per share.

The water and fuel pumping systems company posted revenue of $308.3 million in the period.

Franklin Electric expects full-year earnings in the range of $1.75 to $1.90 per share.

Franklin Electric shares have declined nearly 6% since the beginning of the year. The stock has risen 16% in the last 12 months.
