RIGA, Jan 30 (LETA) - The Latvian Competition Council has allowed merger of Finnish-registered company Auto-Bon and Estonian company Veho Eesti, both engaged in wholesale of new passenger cars, according to a statement published on the council's website.

The Competition Council has made such a decision because no harm to competition has been detected as a result of the deal.

The Competition Council needed to authorize the merger because Auto-Bon belongs to Bassadone Automotive Nordic concern that operates in the Baltic states and Latvia. The concern imports and sells new Hyundai, Suzuki, Ssang Yong, Peugeot and Isuzu cars and spare parts. Meanwhile, Veho Eesti imports and distribute Citroen and DS cars and spare parts in the Baltic states and Latvia.
