IHS Inc. (NYSE: IHS), a leading global provider of critical technical information, decision-support tools and strategic services, today announced the appointment of Jane Okun to the newly created position of Senior Vice President and Chief Customer Process Officer.

Okun has been Senior Vice President, Investor Relations and Corporate Communication at IHS since December 2004. She will continue to oversee those activities worldwide, in addition to her new role of leading the development of an integrated selling and billing process.

?Reengineering and implementing a new single, company-wide system and process for selling and billing to our customers is a key to our future success,? said Jerre Stead, IHS Chairman and Chief Executive Officer. ?Jane is well qualified for this important role which undertakes a core customer relationship improvement, and I'm delighted she has accepted this challenge.?

Over the next 24-30 months, Okun will lead a team in identifying best practices and overhauling 19 distinct IHS billing systems in 17 locations around the world and combining them into one, in support of the company's overall Customer First initiative.

Okun has 20 years of experience and expertise in investor relations, integrated communications, financial planning, financial analysis, corporate planning and accounting. She has held the top investor relations position at several firms including a number of Fortune 500 companies.

Prior to joining IHS, Okun was a partner with Genesis, Inc., a consulting firm that specializes in the areas of strategic positioning, investor relations and integrated strategic communications. Previously, she headed investor relations at Velocom, Inc., MediaOne Group, and Northwest Airlines, and held several management positions in corporate finance at both Northwest Airlines and American Airlines. She started her professional career as a Certified Public Accountant with Price Waterhouse in Detroit.

Okun holds both a BGS and an MBA from the University of Michigan at Ann Arbor. She did a portion of her graduate studies at the Stockholm School of Economics.
