RENO, Nev., Jan. 18 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- International Game Technology (NYSE: IGT) has named Susan Macke chief marketing officer. Macke comes from Hewlett-Packard's handheld business unit as its vice president of global marketing. She has extensive experience in the telecommunications and IT industries, leading customer-focused marketing strategies, brand development, integrated marketing communication and thought leadership on a global scale.

At Hewlett-Packard, Macke was responsible for building new value for the HP brand which included the global and regional strategy for its handheld devices for commercial and consumer segments. Prior to her time at Hewlett-Packard, Macke served as Nokia Finland's vice president of Nokia strategic marketing. While with Nokia, she also served as vice president of portfolio management and product marketing (Finland), and vice president of Europe, Middle East and Africa sales and marketing (UK).

Macke's executive experience also includes work at Sendo Ltd in the UK and Motorola Inc., and she held multiple management roles at IBM working on software development, OEM, marketing and other initiatives.
