Modern and accessible care services provided at affordable cost to the largest possible number of people. This is the challenge facing developing countries with inadequate healthcare facilities and few specialised staff in the coming years.

This was one of many topics discussed at the IFC Global Private Health Conference held in Barcelona from 16 to 17 May and attended by over 500 healthcare experts from 55 countries. Organised by the IFC (International Finance Corporation), a member of the World Bank, the event provided an opportunity to discuss and analyse UHC (Universal Health Coverage) in developing countries.
