LSL Property Services plc has appointed David Barral to become chairman following the impending retirement of Bill Shannon. David Barral is set to become chairman of LSL Barral will become an independent non-executive director with immediate effect, and will also join the company's nominations and remuneration committees. Shannon, who has beena member of the LSL board for nine years and chairman since April 2021, will retire from the board at the end of the company's 2023 annual general meeting in May.

Barral has held a number of senior positions at Aviva, including chief executive of Aviva UK and Ireland. His previous non-executive appointments include roles as senior independent director of LV Group, independent customer champion at Quilter and chairman of Embark Group and Rowanmoor Group. He is currently non-executive chairman of Curtis Banks.
