Mr W.T.C van der Vis MBA (46) was appointed today to the Supervisory Board of Macintosh Retail Group NV. The decision to appoint him was taken unanimously during an extraordinary meeting of shareholders at which 64.5% of share capital was present.
Mr Van Dalen (Chairman of the Supervisory Board):The appointment of Ronald van der Vis has strengthened our Supervisory Board with a person with many years of international experience as a manager of various retail enterprises, including fashion companies. Ronald van der Vis has in-depth expertise in the development, structuring and operation of physical and on-line shopping concepts in which brands play an important role.
In today's highly dynamic retail markets, the importance of on-line sales is increasing. For this reason, the Supervisory Board and the Executive Board will both continue to build on further consolidating the 'pure on-line' expertise at Macintosh on different levels within the organisation.
Mr Van der Vis served from 1994 to 1998 as CEO of Royal Ahrend N.V. in Germany and the Czech Republic. He worked at Pearle Europe Group from 1998 to 2009, the last five years of which he acted as Group CEO. Until 2013, he was Executive Director of the Board & Group CEO of Esprit Holdings Ltd.
Mr Van der Vis is a member of the Supervisory Boards of Sonova Holding AG (Switzerland), Beter
Bed Holding NV (the Netherlands) and Douglas Holding AG (Germany).
