Maxell, Ltd. announced that the Board of Directors resolved the director candidates. Changes of directors are conditioned upon approval at the Company's 76th Ordinary General Meeting of Shareholders scheduled in late June 2022. Also, the Company announced about the executive officer of the Company effective on April 1, 2022. 1. Candidates for Directors (Excluding Directors who serve as Audit and Supervisory Committee Members. Scheduled date of change: Late June 2022).
Name: Hiroyuki Ota (New). New Position: Director. Position before change: General Manager, Optics & Systems Division. Name: Kazuaki Tsutsumi (New). New Position: Outside Director. Directors planned to be retired: Yoshiharu Katsuta, Brian K. Heywood Yoshiharu Katsuta is planned to be assigned as Executive Advisor of the Company after retiring from position of director. 2. Candidates for Directors who serve as Audit and Supervisory Committee Members (Scheduled date of change: Late June 2022). Name: Kazuhiro Aigami (New). New Position: Outside Director, Audit and Supervisory Committee Member. Name: Kazuyoshi Hata (New). New Position: Outside Director, Audit and Supervisory Committee Member. Directors planned to be retired: Tatsuhiko Izumi, Shinobu Watanabe. 3. Executive Officer (Effective April 1, 2022). Name: Kenichi Sano. Duties in charge: Executive Officer, New Business Supervisory, R&D Supervisory and Intellectual Property Supervisory. The Energy segment manufactures and sells secondary batteries, such as coin type lithium secondary batteries, industrial lithium ion batteries and electrodes, and consumer lithium ion batteries, primary batteries such as lithium primary batteries and button batteries, and charger and battery packs.
