Mixi, Inc. announced that its president and founder Kenji Kasahara, 37, will step down. Yusuke Asakura, 30, operating officer and chief of corporate planning, will be promoted to become the new president. Kasahara will become chairman without the right to represent the company.

He will focus on the development of new operations. The leadership change will be effective June 25. Asakura joined Mixi in 2011 after working at a consulting firm.

He assumed his current post in July 2012.
