Philip Morris International (PMI) has been certified by the Top Employers Institute as a Global Top Employer for the fifth year in a row. The certification is further recognition of the progress PMI is making as part of its transformation, firmly establishing the company among the ranks of employers of choice focused on meeting the needs of a globally-diverse workforce.
'We are proud to be named as one of the 16 international organizations awarded this year's global Top Employer certification, which speaks to our continued excellence in HR practices and our ability to meet the needs of a modern workforce,' said Adrian Shooter, Global Head of Integrated Talent Management. 'PMI's vision to create a smoke-free future has spurred the energy and passion of our 73,500 global workforce of employees behind our efforts to deliver positive change for adult smokers who would otherwise continue smoking, and for society.'
The Top Employers Institute recognizes excellence in people practices and its Top Employer program recognizes the best employers around the world. PMI's affiliates were also recognized as leading employers in 44 countries across Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and Asia/Pacific.
As part of the certification process, PMI was required to demonstrate to independent Human Resources (HR) auditors that it excelled in six HR dimensions by answering 400 questions backed up with evidence. These dimensions included:
Steer: Business strategy, people strategy, and leadership
Shape: Organization and change, digital HR, and work environment
Attract: Employer branding, talent acquisition, and onboarding
Develop: Performance, career, and learning
Engage: Wellbeing, engagement, rewards and recognition, and 'offboarding'
Unite: Values, ethics and integrity, diversity and inclusion, and sustainability
