RSC Energia First Deputy General Designer was granted the award named after K.E. Tsiolkovskiy July 2, 2015

RSC Energia First Deputy General Designer, the RAS Academician Yevgeniy Anatolievich Mikrin was presented a diploma of the award named after K.E. Tsiolkovskiy winner of the Russian Academy of Sciences for the year 2014.

The awarding took place on June 30th, 2015 at the Russian Academy of Sciences' Presidium regular meeting. The award named after K.E. Tsiolkovskiy was also granted to Ye.A. Mikrin's teacher - Viktor Pavlovich Legostaev (posthumously), outstanding specialist in the field of spacecrafts' motion and navigation control, the RAS Academician, which held a position of RSC Energia General Designer.

The prestigious award was granted to V.P. Legostaev and Ye.A. Mikrin for scientific works' cycle under the general name "Theoretical bases of developing onboard control complexes of space vehicles of various designation", and became high appreciation of their creative activity results by the Russian Academy of Sciences.

The award winners' scientific works cycle covers the period from the development of the first controlled automated objects, such as "Moon-3" (which photographed far side of the Moon in 1959th) to modern space complexes: the ISS Russian Segment modules, communication and Earth remote sensing satellites, the transport vehicles Progress М-01М and Soyuz TMA-M. The results obtained by V.P. Legostaev and Ye.A. Mikrin were widely used by specialists, working in the field of rocket-and-space technique.

The award named after K.E. Tsiolkovskiy has been granted since 1996 by the RAS Division of machine-building, mechanics and control procedures for the outstanding works in the field of interplanetary flights and use of cosmic space. The award was named in honor of the Russian scientist and inventor, founder of theoretical cosmonautics Konstantin Eduardovich Tsiolkovskiy.
