The first day of the Salzgitter Group trade fair started with a highlight: Federal Chancellor Olaf Scholz, the Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Store, and Stephan Weil, Prime Minister of Lower Saxony, and Federal Research Minister Bettina Stark-Watzinger visited the Salzgitter AG stand in Hall 13.

The large crowd was welcomed Delegation of Gunnar Groebler, CEO, Thorsten Mollmann, Head of Communications, and Alexander Heck, Head of Public & Regulatory Affairs.

Federal Chancellor Olaf Scholz was very interested in SALCOS - Salzgitter Low CO 2 Steelmaking and found out about the gradual implementation of the program.

Gunnar Groebler said: 'The basic materials industry in Germany is the basis for numerous value chains. The steel industry as part of this is undergoing a transformation towards low-CO 2 production processes and Salzgitter AG is the front runner with SALCOS. With our steel products we enable the green transformation. For this it is important that green lead markets are established.'

Salzgitter AG will be presenting itself at the Hannover Messe from April 22nd to 26th. With its trade fair motto 'A new way of thinking for a new industry - thisis happening' it underlines its leading role in the circular economy and the sustainable restructuring of the economy.

The company's new green steel brand SALCOS will also be presented to partners and the public at the Hanover Fair. With the SALCOS transformation program of the same name, the Salzgitter Group is gradually converting its steel production to hydrogen-based processes with the aim of achieving almost CO 2 -free steel production. In the future, the group will sell green steel products under the SALCOS brand that meet defined criteria such as demanding physical CO 2 reduction. The product brand is based on the system of the Steel Association, which supports the development of green lead markets for climate-friendly products with its proposal.

At this year's Hannover Messe, Salzgitter AG will be found for the first time in Hall 13, where companies from the hydrogen and fuel cell industry will be presenting themselves.
