On the sidelines of its quarterly publication, Siemens Energy reports that its wind power division Siemens Gamesa has initiated comprehensive restructuring measures and milestones for its long-term strategic development.

The ultimate goal of these measures is for the division to achieve a double-digit operating margin, with break-even by 2026, followed by a return to profitable growth. Siemens Gamesa will remain active in both onshore and offshore activities.

The German group indicates that these measures will result in headcount adjustments, but that the number of employees should remain more or less constant over the next few years with the development of areas such as offshore.

This announcement is accompanied by that of Jochen Eickholt's departure from the position of CEO of Siemens Gamesa, decided by mutual agreement. He will hand over his duties to Vinod Philip on August 1, before leaving the Group on September 30.
