On January 24, 2018, board member Frank S. McDonald notified SmartFinancial, Inc. and the company's nomination committee of his intention to retire from the company's board of directors and to not stand for re-election to the board of directors upon the expiration of his term at the company's annual meeting of shareholders, which is scheduled to be held on May 24, 2018. On January 24, 2018, board member Doyce G. Payne, M.D. notified the company and the company's nomination committee of his intention to retire from the company's board of directors and to not stand for re-election to the board of directors upon the expiration of his term at the Annual Meeting.
SmartFinancial, Inc. is the bank holding company for SmartBank (the Bank). The Bank is a full-service commercial bank with branches across Tennessee, Alabama, and Florida. The principal business of the Bank consists of attracting deposits from the general public and investing those funds, together with funds generated from operations and from principal and interest payments on loans, primarily in commercial loans, commercial and residential real estate loans, leases, consumer loans and residential and commercial construction loans.
