(Alliance News) - Publishing Company Il Fatto Spa announced Monday that the first cycle of classes of the School of Il Fatto has started.

The first course starting today is dedicated to the social system. The course, consisting of 15 lectures, aims to provide participants with the overall socio-economic framework, explaining its dynamics, patterns, forms of work, cooperation and conflict, values, needs, ethics and aesthetics.

The course, coordinated by Miriam Mirolla, professor of theory of perception and psychology of art, at the Academy of Fine Arts in Rome, includes lecturers such as Mauro Ceruti, Vanni Codeluppi, Domenico De Masi, Vito Mancuso, Tomaso Montanari, Franco Purini, Luca Sommi, Pasquale Tridico and Gianfranco Viesti. As the school also aims to use an innovative as well as interactive teaching mode, the course will host literary and musical forays. Among the teachers, therefore, will be orchestra conductor Aurelio Canonici.

The school is part of the newly established Training division, which is one of the pillars of SEIF's business plan to 2025.

The school's director is sociologist Domenico De Masi, professor emeritus of sociology of labor at "La Sapienza" University of Rome where he was dean of the Faculty of Communication Sciences.

"Our school affirms Domenico De Masi wants to enable its students to fill the educational gaps produced by the speed of progress and to share an excellent community created around teachers of the highest caliber."

Cinzia Monteverdi, head of SEIF, commented, "We strongly believe in this project because since our foundation we believe that the role of a publishing group is not only to inform, but also to contribute to training and the dissemination of knowledge. In addition, we think that the Training division can bring revenue diversification to our company and this can only result in value creation for all our stakeholders. A particularly significant element is the interest found not only by individuals, but also by many companies interested in offering training that enables their employees to read the major changes taking place in Italy and around the world."

The school's training program will continue on April 14, with the launch of the monographic course on environmental justice, coordinated by Grazia Pagnotta, professor of Environmental History, at the University of Roma Tre, with such high-level lecturers as Leonardo Becchetti, Ferdinando Boero, Aurelio Canonici, Livio de Santoli, Silvio Greco, Paolo Maddalena, Stefano Mancuso, Luca Mercalli, Carlo Petrini, Paolo Pileri, and Marco Ponti.

SEIF's stock is down 2.9 percent at EUR0.18 per share.
