Taganrog Boiler Making Works Krasny Kotelshchik : Boiler of “Krasny Kotelshchik” Successfully Passed Certification Tests

Certification tests of Boiler Unit No. 4 manufactured by the Taganrog Boiler-Making Works "Krasny Kotelshchik" (TKZ) finished at the largest generating facility of the power system of Udmurtia, Izhevskaya TETS-2 (CHPP) (being a part of PJSC "T Plus"). The tests proved the quality of the products designed and manufactured by specialists of the large Don company.

The forth power unit of Izhevskaya TETS-2 (CHPP) has been operated since 1982. Its profound modernization within the frameworks of the state program DPM-2 is an excellent opportunity for the most important power facility of the republic to enhance its reliability, effective and environment-friendly generation of power and provide availability of the necessary power resources for new residential areas of the capital of Udmurtia.

The modernization project was meant for several years and now it has achieved the final straight. In particular, the pressure components of "Krasny Kotelshchik" steam boiler were completely installed; the boiler successfully passed the certification tests following the hydraulic tests. In parallel, employees of the Taganrog company carried out the training of the power plant personnel how to operate the Boiler Unit.

It is planned to commission the forth Power Unit including the TKZ Boiler in July 2024. Before that, it is necessary to complete installation of the thermal insulation, skin casing, auxiliary piping, as well as an overall automation of the Boiler Unit. Pre-commissioning works, reliability run and performance test of the Boiler will be carried out as well.

TKZ Boiler Unit efficiency will be 96 %. It will fire natural gas as the main fuel and it will produce 540 t of steam per hour. The increased steam capacity is not the only distinguishing feature of the new equipment. The boiler made by "Krasny Kotelshchik" is compact and provides economical and environment-friendly operation which meets the modern tendencies in the power sector.
