3i : announces new hire and six senior promotions across its Private Equity team

3i announces the hire of Rupert Howard as a Director in its UK team, and six senior promotions across its Private Equity business, reflecting another successful year for the team.

Rupert Howard has joined as a Director based in London, and will focus on the Consumer sector. Rupert was previously a Director in the Consumer, Retail and Leisure sector team at Rothschild. He brings 12 years' experience in both public and private transactions, predominantly in the food and beverages sub-sector.
In addition, the following six investment professionals in the Private Equity business have been promoted:

In the year ended 31 March 2018, the Private Equity business made a gross investment return of £1.4bn. Over the last three months, it has completed two new investments; investing c. $150 million in ICE and £135 million in Royal Sanders. It also completed the sale of Scandlines, generating a 7.0x return.
