2013 data from the International Labor Organization shows that the Philippines lost as much as 66,000 operational days due to cases of occupational injury, which resulted in temporary work incapacity.

Aside from itsown construction sites, RepublicCementalso rallied stakeholders in the construction industry to work together towards building a safety culture in the sector, through the establishment of the 'RepublicContractors Safety Guild' in 2018.

Philippine Basketball Association Legends Alvin Patrimonio and Jerry Codiñera who were guests at the event shared how the principles they learned in basketball apply to construction.
