HARRISBURG, Pa.- December 11, 2018 - Aetna, a CVS Health business, and UPMC Pinnacle have expanded their network of clinical services for the Aetna Whole HealthSM - Pinnacle Health products. As of October 1, 2018, Aetna commercial plan members have access to five additional hospitals and two associated physician groups that provide high-quality, cost-effective primary and specialty care to individuals who reside in Cumberland, Dauphin, and Perry counties.

Aetna and UPMC Pinnacle's accountable care agreement is intended to:

  • Lower medical cost growth over time by reducing waste, improving care coordination and closing care gaps
  • Enhance each patient's experience with innovative care management programs while also saving employees money when they use providers aligned with UPMC Pinnacle
  • Support effective patient and primary care doctor relationships
  • Reduce readmissions and improve outcomes

This expanded collaboration will offer a wide array of plan designs and funding options, giving Central Pennsylvania-area employers choices that enhance the membership experience through a collaborative team approach to the full spectrum of health care.

Hospitals added to the Aetna Whole Health-Pinnacle Health network include:

  • UPMC Pinnacle Carlisle
  • UPMC Pinnacle Hanover
  • UPMC Pinnacle Lancaster
  • UPMC Pinnacle Lititz
  • UPMC Pinnacle Memorial (in York)
