Albena : an impressive candidate for European Sports Resort 2019

Albena holiday village was visited by the ACES EUROPA inspectors revised its readiness to be a European Sports Resort for 2019. The governing body of the organization which defines the European cities and capitals of sport was with its representatives - Hugo Alonso, general secretary, Lucas Borel, Vicenzo Lupatelli, François Noël and Anatoli Iliev. The Albena JSCo representatives acquainted the inspectors with a variety of sports facility and equipments within two hours. The meeting continued with a presentation showing the Albena opportunities and priorities in the field of the active rest, recreation, healthy lifestyle as well as with the future priorities investments of the resort in the field of sport.
'The global trends are changing. The tourists are no longer just looking for good service regarding to food, beach, hotel, but more and more they are increasingly keen on sports and active recreation. This is what Albena is the absolute leader in this field in the world - as a variety and wealth of sports opportunities. Separately, each hotel has its own sport infrastructure. The resort is becoming greener and more sporty.' said the hosts during the press conference.
The authoritative guests received extensive information during the inspection by the Albena JSCo representatives: Dimitar Tachev - Deputy Director of Marketing and Sales, Denis Tahirov - Sport Manager, Erwin Lindbihler - Head of Sports Sector, Christina Bogdanova - Product Manager.
The guests visited the multifunctional hall, the huge aquapark, the horse base, the tennis complex, the football playgrounds, the SPA centre, the grass hockey course and many other sports bases of the Albena holiday village. They were fascinated by the conditions and opportunities that the pearl of the Bulgarian Black Sea offers year-round recreation and sport.
If Albena is chosen, it will become the first ever European sports resort. ACES defines capitals, cities and small sport cities since 2000 but from the coming year will now also includes the new title - European Sports Resort.
