PITTSBURGH (AP) _ American Eagle Outfitters Inc. (AEO) on Wednesday reported fiscal third-quarter earnings of $80.8 million.

The Pittsburgh-based company said it had net income of 48 cents per share.

The results met Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of eight analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was also for earnings of 48 cents per share.

The teen clothing retailer posted revenue of $1.07 billion in the period, which beat Street forecasts. Five analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $1.06 billion.

For the current quarter ending in January, American Eagle expects its per-share earnings to range from 34 cents to 36 cents.

American Eagle shares have declined 22% since the beginning of the year. The stock has fallen 22% in the last 12 months.
