DALLASand SAN DIEGO, March 5, 2019/PRNewswire / -- The American Organization of Nurse Executives (AONE) has named Dr. Cole Edmonson, Chief Clinical Officer of AMN Healthcare (NYSE:AMN), as one of the inaugural recipients of its AONE Fellow designation.

The AONE fellow designation recognizes a nurse leader's sustained contributions to the specialty of nursing leadership, commitment to service and influence in shaping healthcare. Dr. Edmonson is one of 18 AONE Fellows from throughout the healthcare industry.

Dr. Edmonson joined AMN in January from Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital in Dallas, a Magnet hospital with a highly respected and decorated nursing staff, where he was Chief Nursing Officer since 2010. He held the same position at other hospitals since 1998. In addition to nurse leadership, he is deeply involved in research, professional organizations, health policy development, and community service.

He is well known for his success in elevating the nursing leadership role and creating collaborative teams across the clinical delivery continuum. Throughout his tenure as a nurse leader, he has initiated and led innovative programs to advance clinical quality, education, professional practice, patient experience and safety, and clinician safety.
