Archer Daniels Midland : ADM Applauds Agreement to Lift Trade Tariffs

CHICAGO, May 17, 2019-Archer Daniels Midland Company (NYSE: ADM) today issued the following statement:

'We applaud today's announcement of an agreement by the United States, Mexico, and Canada to lift trade tariffs associated with the 232 case on steel and aluminum, and we thank Ambassador Lighthizer and the Administration for their leadership on this critical issue. This agreement represents a key step toward approval and ratification of the U.S-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA), which will greatly benefit American farmers, ranchers, and agribusiness. ADM strongly supports the USMCA and is hopeful for expeditious passage by Congress.

'This agreement will not only set the table to approve the USMCA in all three legislatures, it will also enhance access to customer markets in Canada and Mexico-benefiting America's farmers, ranchers and food manufacturers, and supporting job creation and economic growth in our rural communities.
