TRIHOM, the leading French provider of nuclear training for all companies in the sector, has inaugurated its new learning center in Normandy, France. The event was attended by Philippe Knoche, the CEO of New AREVA, as well as company managers and representatives from the region.

With 1,100 m² of space dedicated to training, the center is the largest in France thanks to its wide range of training workshops, and one of the biggest of its kind in Europe. Its 6 learning zones (or training workshops) contain exact replicas of nuclear facilities of all types, including a nuclear reactor, a fuel cycle plant and a nuclear-powered submarine. These workshops will allow trainees to practice nuclear operations, including the use of digital technologies.

The opening of this new establishment forms part of a major development plan being rolled out by TRIHOM. Backed by a service offer of more than 200 training courses, covering areas as diverse as regulation, in-depth technical studies and personal development, the organization already trains more than 30,000 students each year. It is planning to invest 7 million euros over the next few years to increase its training capacity and digitalize its entire training offer.

In his inauguration speech, William Lhermite, the CEO of TRIHOM, said: 'This completely new type of center, a genuine flagship for TRIHOM's national network of agencies, is a source of great pride for all TRIHOM's employees. And we are proud to have been able to build it in Normandy, an area with a great industrial tradition and one of providing support for the nuclear industry.'

Philippe Knoche, the CEO of New AREVA, commented: 'The French nuclear industry is an internationally renowned sector of excellence, a sector of the future that is looking to recruit new talent. With TRIHOM and this new center, it has the resources required to develop skills and train the engineers, technicians and nuclear operators of tomorrow.'
