Aspiro AB : Remmer appointed Managing Director for WiMP Denmark

Music service WiMP is growing rapidly in Denmark and has appointed Morten Remmer as the new Managing Director. Remmer is former head of digital at Universal Music and most recently commercial director at ArtPeople, the label behind Denmark's biggest artist Rasmus Seebach.

WiMP has recently entered into new partnerships with music magazine Gaffa and with VICE Media and launched in October WiMP HiFi with lossless audio, as the first and only music streaming service. WiMP is also growing through the partnership with Telenor, who distributes WiMP to its customers.

"I have worked extensively with digital music services and business models in both major and indie music companies and know the labels' and artists' needs. Therefore, it is of course a very interesting challenge to help create tomorrow's service. And since my network in the music industry has long seen WiMP as the best product on the market, the decision was not difficult," says Morten Remmer.

Remmer has in addition to his experience at Universal Music and ArtPeople previously also worked with business development and digital media with, among others, Nordisk Film Egmont and Metronome. He also has a background as an artist, producer, DJ and music writer and holds a law degree.
