In the summer of 2017 the first electric Felyx scooter hit the road in Amsterdam. In total, around one hundred electric scooters are available for rent in our capital. This was followed by Rotterdam at the beginning of October 2018, with more than three hundred electric scooters. The concept is simple: within the service area, the customer can rent a scooter for thirty euro cents per minute via an app.

According to Martin Poot, who started Felyx together with Quinten Selhorst, around 50,000 people are now regularly using a Felyx scooter and the scooter fleet can be extended to several thousands of electric scooters within 2 years' time. Poot: 'In our search for a suitable insurer we were looking in particular for a shared mission. a.s.r. clearly presents itself as a sustainable insurer and that's why the company is a good fit for us as a fully sustainable scale-up.'

Robert van der Schaaf, Director of a.s.r. Schade: 'a.s.r. wants to contribute to a sustainable society, for example through our products and a network of body repairers who apply sustainable repairs. In line with this, we like to collaborate with companies with a sustainable disposition, such as Felyx. When we heard the positive narrative of the founders, we were immediately enthusiastic.'

Felyx has already received millions in investment from ABN AMRO among others, which means that the platform is now also exploring international growth opportunities.
