Atlantia : Italian government to join Atlantia bridge collapse case - source

The Italian government has decided to appear as a party in a case filed by Atlantia against a decree excluding the infrastructure group from reconstruction work on the Genoa bridge that collapsed in 2018, a government source said.

Atlantia's Autostrade per l'Italia unit, which operated the bridge in the northwestern port city, has launched a legal challenge to a government decree excluding it from rebuilding work.

The decision by the government to appear in the case, which is currently under review before the Constitutional Court, will give its lawyers the possibility of presenting arguments directly to the court, the source said.
