Avistar Communications Corp. (NASDAQ:AVSR), a video collaboration platform provider, today announced the appointment of Lisa Farley as Director, Client Development and Adoption. Farley will head the company's video adoption team, which works with customers to optimize the benefits realized from departmental and enterprise-wide deployments of Avistar desktop video solutions.

Avistar has successfully deployed desktop video to more than 15,000 users in major global financial institutions. Farley will help this extensive community of Avistar users, bringing to her new role in-depth experience in working with clients to maximize the benefits of their information technology projects. Farley has served as Global Relationship Manager at Thomson Financial and District Manager specializing in Financial Services / Insurance at Siebel Systems, Inc. and has also held customer relationship consulting roles at Accenture.

Throughout her career, Farley has worked to roll out successful software deployments to new and existing customers in enterprises that include large banking institutions and telecommunications companies. ?Educating our customers with first-hand knowledge of how best to maximize the benefits of video is exciting work,? said Farley. ?Avistar has long understood how visual collaboration tools can profoundly change the workplace, and this knowledge ? transformed into practical recommendations ? is an invaluable asset to our customers.?

Once a customer decides to implement desktop video, Farley and her team work with the client to identify collaboration patterns within and between groups, ensuring that video is deployed to the right teams within an organization. After deployment of the Avistar solution, the adoption team continues to work with the client by providing ongoing training and benefits analysis. In today's global workplace, face-to-face communication across time zones and geography is an essential tool that helps dispersed teams solve business challenges. By supporting successful adoption of its easy-to-use, enterprise-class application, Avistar is helping customers achieve their goals: enable employees to boost productivity, reduce travel costs and improve collaboration through more effective, video-enabled communication.
